This daisy was lit by an overhead sun, which caused the red petals to glow like there was fire within. I like the way the sun touched the tiny hairs on the stem, as if to say you don’t have to be showy to be touched by the Light.
Petal Portraits Notecards are 5” x 7” when folded and include an envelope. The images were made using only natural sunlight with minimal retouching. The cards are printed on paper that is designed to show off the vibrant colors on the outside and have a surface on the inside you can easily write on.
Each card is printed individually by the photographer and inspected prior to packaging and shipment.
How can anyone look at a Daisy and not immediately feel more cheerful? Or, a field of Sunflowers and not be speechless? There are no hidden surprises with these flowers. The petals, arrayed in a circle, overlap each other creating interesting shadows when viewed from behind. From that same point of view, the direct sun causes the petals to glow as if the Light was generated on the inside of them, which explains why they are associated with cheerfulness.
