How can anyone look at a Daisy and not immediately feel more cheerful? Or, a field of Sunflowers and not be speechless? There are no hidden surprises with these flowers. The petals, arrayed in a circle, overlap each other creating interesting shadows when viewed from behind. From that same point of view, the direct sun causes the petals to glow as if the Light was generated on the inside of them, which explains why they are associated with cheerfulness.
