Orange Rose Notecard
This rose was lit by the sun overhead, and as a result the translucent petals show how the light has cascaded into the center of the rose and lit it up from within.
Petal Portraits Notecards are 5” x 7” when folded and include an envelope. The images were made using only natural sunlight with minimal retouching. The cards are printed on paper that is designed to show off the vibrant colors on the outside and have a surface on the inside you can easily write on.
Each card is printed individually by the photographer and inspected prior to packaging and shipment.
I have a favorite view of the Rose. I like to look closely at it when it is backlit by the sun. The outermost petals are bright and, if the rose is a light color, most of the light passes easily through them to illuminate the next row of petals. This next set of petals also allows the light to pass through, but they also keep some of it for themselves. This sequence keeps happening until very little light illuminates the center of the rose, where new petals are tightly wrapped around each other and mystery abounds.
