Japanese Iris Print
Japanese Iris Print
This Japanese Iris takes on the appearance of a snake or dragon when looked at not as a whole, but as a series of small vignettes that highlight the structure.
Petal Portraits fine art prints are available in a variety of sizes and are shipped in a protective tube, and each image is printed by the photographer on high-quality satin photo paper to showcase the vibrant color and detail. An extra-wide border is included for flexible framing options.
Please note: Frames and mats are not included. The images shown are mockups and the cropping required to make these prints a certain size may be slightly different than what is shown in the mockup.
The first flower that I photographed with my macro lens was a Bearded Iris. It was in our Arizona garden, the sun low in the East in the hush of the morning before the Spring breezes moved in off the desert.
What I saw through the lens amazed me! This incredibly complex flower was a joy to behold even from a distance, but as I focused deeper and deeper into the interior of the Iris, I was amazed at the many chambers found there among the petals. As the rising sun’s rays snuck into each one of these chambers, they seemed to explode with light. I watched in awe as a thin ray of sun touched the tips of the beard, and I could almost sense their awakened joy. I then realized that the Light had become as much a part of this iris as any part I could touch with my fingers.
