Yellow Spider Mum Notecard
The Spider Mum is a mystery when it is new, with the center so tightly wrapped. It reminds me of the spiders we see in Arizona, hence it gives me the creeps. But when it opens, its many arms reach skyward joyously, creating many shadows internally as the petals fight to be first to receive the sun.
Petal Portraits Notecards are 5” x 7” when folded and include an envelope. The images were made using only natural sunlight with minimal retouching. The cards are printed on paper that is designed to show off the vibrant colors on the outside and have a surface on the inside you can easily write on.
Each card is printed individually by the photographer and inspected prior to packaging and shipment.
The Spider Mum, while a magnificent study in the shape of lines when fully opened, when it is closed, it does remind me of the large spiders I see here in Arizona. Looking deep down inside the flower where all the petals are being formed it looks chaotic, a tight ball containing row after row of small petals, all hopeful of being able to touch, and be touched by, the Light.
