Late afternoon at The Dallas Arboretum, this group shot of orange tulips in late afternoon sun was photobombed by a single yellow daffodil, seeking its glory alongside nature’s first display.
Petal Portraits Notecards are 5” x 7” when folded and include an envelope. The images were made using only natural sunlight with minimal retouching. The cards are printed on paper that is designed to show off the vibrant colors on the outside and have a surface on the inside you can easily write on.
Each card is printed individually by the photographer and inspected prior to packaging and shipment.
With most of my recent ancestors hailing from Holland, it is a foregone conclusion that I would be prone to Tulip-Worship. I offer no defense, as my Petal Portraits Tulips portfolio clearly shows how enamored I am with this stately flower. I read where there may be more than 3,000 varieties of tulips, but it is those individual tulips that I have known photographically that define the whole population of them for me
The tulip is a flower that looks simple in its construction, but when viewed up close and intimately, it becomes an engineering marvel.
